Cutest Brother Kittens Bobby & Leroy Need a Furever Home

The four pictures BELOW are of Leroy, a Tuxedo wearing cat. He's the thinker and never afraid to act on his thoughts. Very athletic, too. He has a LOUD purr when you hold him, and is total kitten antics all the time. Love the little white dot on his nose and four white socks!

Bobby and Leroy are full brothers who also have a sister that is still in my foster care.

They were found in a field about to be plowed and were living as feral kittens in desperate need of rescue, because of the tractors about to destroy their home.

They are now fully socialized and loving, though Andie their sister is receiving more training because she is not as trusting, yet, as Bobby and Leroy. They would love to visit with you!    http://www.awlfc.org/ 

Drooling Raptors

I remember when we saw Belle, a Bald Eagle, drooling drops into eaglet Patty O'Joy's mouth. These pictures of the Black Vulture chick drooling reminded me of that.

The last day with the two Black Vulture chicks. The one injured by

Surviving chick has moved to the TOP of the barn
now. He's thinking about coming down in the above
pic ... and below is very content to just sit on his new
roost. Look at his curly baby fuzz!





Now, our beautiful Black Vulture chick is
branching. He flies to the top of the barn,
then over to the branches above and near it.



Introducing Bobby and Alvin!

Finally, some pictures of these adorable little fuzz balls, Bobby and Alvin. Bobby is the one with the most white on his face, and Alvin has just a little white dot on his nose. They are foster kittens that we'll be keeping until they are neutered and adopted.

Black Vulture Babies - and Now There are Two!

The first Vulture chick is now 12 days old. Below is the first picture of both chicks together.

Isn't that sweet? Here the first chick is one week.

  





 

I took these (above & below) today, June 17. The

first chick was found June 5, so it's 12 days old here.

Black Vultures don't use nests. They lay their eggs on

the floor of an abandoned barn, shelter, or in a tree

stump, log, etc.







 

Here we have an angry parent, hissing and growling and

not letting me out of her sight!

Below:  She is coming down to protect her babies.  

 

Below, I enlarged the wings of the parent and I still can't

figure out what way she/he is facing and how the wings

fold back. They do have some pretty long feathers.

I have found many around in the woods.





First BLACK VULTURE Chick is Born

Very exiciting evening here. Got lucky and happened to get pictures of the first Black Vulture chick which is as you can see still very new.  Thank God for the timing. The second egg, which I thought had pips on it, may or may not. The eggs do have splotches on them before hatching and this is my first vulture hatching!
